Nach einer zweijährigen Pause meldet sich 2024 das LackStreicheKleber – Urban Art Festival zurück. Gefüllt mit einem reichhaltigen Programm wird das LackStreicheKleber Festival wieder einen umfassenden Einblick in die Dresdner Urban Art geben.
2024 fokussiert das Eigenprogramm auf zwei Themenkomplexe – „40 Jahre Urban Art in Dresden“ und „The Beast“ .
Hinter dem Titel „The Beast“ versteckt sich eine Ausstellung mit Rahmenprogramm. Die Ausstellung wird drei internationale künstlerische Urban Art Positionen vorstellen. Alle drei haben sich auf ihre Weise dem Thema Geflüchteter auf Güterzügen genähert.
Der mexikanisch-britische Fotograf Pablo Allison, der bereits im Januar sein Buch „The Light of The Beast“ in Dresden vorstellte, fährt seit mehreren Jahren gemeinsam mit lateinamerikanischen Migranten auf der Bestia quer durch Mexico. Mit der Bestia (dt. Biest) ist ursprünglich ein Güterzug gemeint, der Mexico von Süden nach Norden durchfährt.
Der tschechische Graffiti-Writer Jan Glín fuhr, inspiriert von Pablo Allison und einem Zettel, Abschnitte der „Balkanroute“. Jan Glín fand auf einem europäischen Güterzug ein Dokument eines Geflüchteten, das dieser auf dem Zug hinterlies. Glìns Dokumentation wurde in der Publikation „Riding the Beast of Europe“ veröffentlicht.
Simone Ferrarini, Teil der italienischen Künstlergruppe Collettivo FX, thematisierte mehrmals in seinen künstlerischen Arbeiten die gefährliche Flucht afrikanischer Migranten nach und durch Europa. U.a. schuf er großformatige Zeichnungen auf Güterzügen. Diese Güterzüge queren unter anderem den Brennerpass.
Im Rahmen der Ausstellung finden Führungen, Workshops, eine Gesprächsrunde und eine KÜFA statt.
Der Themenkomplex „40 Jahre Urban Art in Dresden“ beschäftigt sich mit der Graffiti und Street Art Geschichte Dresden die mindestens bis in die 1980er Jahre zurück reicht.
In einem Open Call wurden sowohl professionelle Künstler & Fotografen als auch Hobbykünstler & Hobbyfotografen eingeladen Kunstwerke, Dokumente o.ä. zur vierzigjährigen Urban Art Geschichte Dresdens einzureichen. Die Inhalte des Open Calls werden es in diesem Jahr die Inhalte der mobilen RadKunstwurf – Ausstellung und RadKunstwurf-Verteilaktion sein. Die prämierten Werke und weitere Einreichung werden zur Eröffnung der RadKunstwurf – Ausstellung in der Groove Station präsentiert.
In Kooperation mit dem Stadtmuseum Dresden findet ein Podiumsgespräch mit Mirko „DAIM“ Reisser aus Hamburg, Benjamin Schandelmeier aus München, Dr. Harald Hinz aus Lauterbach und Dr. Christina Ludwig aus Dresden statt.
Die Moderation wird Gerrit Retterath aus Kassel übernehmen. Im Gespräch werden unterschiedliche Ansätze einer Aufarbeitung der Dresdner Urban Art Geschichte besprochen und im Anschluss möchten wir im Austausch mit dem interessierten Dresdner Publikum über die Machbarkeit sprechen.
Abschließend wird zur Dresdner Museumsnacht die Live-Zeichnungs-Performance Dresdner Artefakte von MURALS OF THE FUTURE stattfinden.
Neben den eigenen Schwerpunktthemen sind es vor allem die Partner, die dem Festival seine Vielfalt verleihen. In diesem Jahr wird es u.a. folgende Partnerveranstaltungen geben:

After a two-year break, the LackStreicheKleber – Urban Art Festival returns in 2024. Filled with a rich program, the LackStreicheKleber Festival will once again provide a comprehensive insight into Dresden’s urban art.
In 2024, the festival’s own program will focus on two themes – “40 Years of Urban Art in Dresden” and “The Beast”.
Behind the title “The Beast” is an exhibition with a supporting program. The exhibition will present three international artistic urban art positions. All three have approached the topic of refugees on freight trains in their own way.
Mexican-British photographer Pablo Allison, who presented his book “The Light of The Beast” in Dresden in January, has been traveling across Mexico on the Bestia together with Latin American migrants for several years. The Bestia originally refers to a freight train that crosses Mexico from south to north.
Inspired by Pablo Allison and a piece of paper, Czech graffiti writer Jan Glín traveled sections of the “Balkan route”. Jan Glín found a document left by a refugee on a European freight train.
Glìn’s documentation was published in the book “Riding the Beast of Europe”.
Simone Ferrarini, part of the Italian artist group Collettivo FX, has repeatedly thematized the dangerous flight of African migrants to and through Europe in his artistic works. Among other things, he created large-format drawings on freight trains. These freight trains cross the Brenner Pass, among other places.
Part of the exhibiton are guided tours, workshop offers, a public talk and a KÜFA.
The thematic complex “40 Years of Urban Art in Dresden” deals with the history of graffiti and street art in Dresden, which goes back at least as far as the 1980s.
In an open call, both professional artists and photographers as well as amateur artists and photographers are invited to submit artworks, documents or similar relating to Dresden’s forty-year urban art history. The contents of the Open Call this year will be the contents of the mobile RadKunstwurf exhibition and RadKunstwurf distribution campaign. The award-winning works and other submissions will be presented at the opening of the RadKunstwurf exhibition at the Groove Station.
In cooperation with the Stadtmuseum Dresden, there will be a panel discussion with Mirko “DAIM” Reisser from Hamburg, Benjamin Schandelmeier from Munich, Dr. Harald Hinz from Lauterbach and Dr. Christina Ludwig from Dresden.
The moderator will be Gerrit Retterath from Kassel. In the discussion, different approaches to the reappraisal of Dresden’s urban art history will be discussed and afterwards we would like to talk about the feasibility with the interested Dresden audience.
Finally, the live drawing performance DRESDEN ARTIFACTS by MURALS OF THE FUTURE will take place at the Dresden Museum Night.
In addition to the festival’s own focal themes, it is above all the partners that give the festival its diversity. This year there will be the following partner events, among others:
